There is no way a Phantom SVL with a "Legal 525efi" will run 100. It should have been protested.

Having a 40mph start speed we knew we had nothing for Dave S.'s drag engines! Or even some of these small skaters with big power. his 208 number was AMAZING!!!!! Callan's 209 was done with t55's and a faster start speed! Again hats off to Dave s and his team!!!!
It was great seeing you guys run......Your boat is amazing!

Congrats to you and Jeff for putting on a show. At least ya'll showed up and gave it a shot, unlike some other turbine team, who claims to have the fastest boat out there. Dave Scott and John Tomlinson were outstanding. Thanks to all participants for an outstanding show.

But this is a shootout not a sanctioned race event. The rules do distingiush a 525 as "stock" so without a blower what else can you do besides turn up the ecm? (which they all do anyway)

Do you know this for a fact, or just hearsay?

I would sure like to hear from the experts on this.

I've been reading, and have been told on numerous occasions, a 525efi ecm is not that easy to hack. So, unless they are using an after market ecm or have the Merc passcodes, how is this accomplished?

I do not know for a fact, just specualting based on Whipple hacking the 700ecm. All the rules say is:

F = Modified Factory Engine without Power (includes 525Sc Stock)
P= Power added features (blowers, turbos, nitros, etc)

So I'm wondering why they'd be DQ'd if it was a modified ecm?
