Get ahold of a radar gun (someone will have one, maybe even Teague) and see if the theory pans out. Do some test runs on your own working up from 60 to over 100. Radar is usually good for plus/minus 5mph.
Radar really isn't a good choice if you're basing your findings solely on a radar reading. Too much can affect the turn out. Co-sign effect, other moving objects, power wires, etc. Lydar would be way better but to lock lydar is a mo-fo on a boat. That tech. that they use to regulate speeds in certain offshore classes would be a good way to get consistant readings as well.
