They aren't 3000hp

They have been working out the bugs for years.
Nitrous is/was used to get on-plane. I have watched it get on-plane several times at the Shoot-out and in testing.

What horsepower would you say they are, when running 35lbs of boost and 116 octane?

Projects take time to work the bugs out of, especially, when its not your only project. He also has some really nice sand rails with twin-turbos as well.

Ken Duttweiler, of Duttweiler Performance, built the engines. He has more experience, than anyone I can think of, in building turbo engines.

Are you a HATER?

2,750 ea. before he put a water cooled turbo on them and they dropped to about 2,500 ea. They can pull 40 lbs of boost for like 40 seconds...

It gets on plane without having to use Nitrous

That must be new this year or only when not running the high boost because, Rique Ford was using it to get on plane at the Shootout last year. The 3000 horsepower is the number that Al gave me.

They were using the Nitrous to get in plane as they had some trans issues so the have seem'd to have gotten things working better and Al told yesterday it does not need the nitrous to get up. Now, if he had to drag race it, he'd hit that button every time I'd bet as it certainly does help. It is programed to only work below 3500 rpm I believe.

It's a 572 Kenny Duttweiler engine.....I ran it at LOTO shootout last year....it's fast had in the 180's....during the actual run we had it up to about 140 pulling strong but with a 4 speed tranny I didn't have enough time to get in the tall gear at WFO

Wouldnt the boat that ran 208 at the shootout easily get to 225 230 if it had more distance ? For a lot less $$$$ ?
