Take you 12 thousand and buy a nice clean single engine 24 footer that will do 60 not 45 like that Scarab .The fuel , repairs , storage and a tow vehicle for that pig will make you wish you never took up boating.

I agree with the 24 foot idea. You will get a much nicer and more reliable boat that doesn't suck nearly as much fuel for the same price!
