What's your point? It's a cor engine. Nothing new here. Nelson Racing will make 2500+ hp on a SBC 454. This is not a boat engine, and this is about boat engines.

Having said that...is that boat just slow...or did they have other problems...or are the motors not really making 2500-3000 horsepower each... when fully rigged to run in the boat?

Because Nauti Marine (using supercharged motors with less horsepower) was undoubtedly the fastest and quickest boat there.

Don't get me wrong...I am a huge turbo charger fan! ... I am just not seeing a lot of turbo boats... with all these claims of huge horsepower... spanking everyone.

Chris
The Nauti Marine boat and its engines were set up to do just the Shootout event. Al Burns and the Out Of Control Skater were still working out some issues with the 4-speed Weismann Transmissions and also didn't have the right prop for the event. Any questions call Ken Duttweiler at Duttweiler Performance or Rik Wimp at Arneson Industries or Rik here on the board.

Jesus, how hard could it be to adapt it to a boat.. Where do you think the 350, 454, 502 etc came from, " the automotive industry".. Put the pompoms down and start fabbing...
You don't actually think supercharging was invented by the boating industry do you, it went from coal mines and furnaces, to aircraft, to diesel engines, to hot rods and finally to boating...
Why can't other power adders make the same transition?

Back to topic. Super sweet. There is always people who claim they have or know someone who has made more power with such and such combo. It is all about picking your poison and doing your R&D, in which you guys do.

A pair of those motors should lay some serious numbers down in a cat ,once things are dialed in, with the torque numbers and building power all the way to 7400rpm. Keep up the good work and showing the vids. Later, Cam-shaft.

I think he,s trying to say that a car engine is under much less stress than a boat engine is ...in a boat the engine can be loaded for a long time by pushing the boat hard ,as in a car the engine can accelerate the car up to speed ,but usually only for short bursts (other traffic etc ) so its much easier on the parts ,and temperatures are not as high due to the short runs .

That was never the goal or plan. The fact is, the motor can make more power, but currently the drive train behind it won't hold as much as its got. The fact that the motor that much power so effortlessly is what was amazing. There will always be something with more power.

Can't wait to see these things!!
If you use your throttle bodies, you should have no problem as long as its pullied accordingly. If you install the new tb's, then it needs to be verified on dyno or in boat.
