Anyone know the status of Powerboat P1 USA ???

Website's 2010 Schedule :

Sunny Isles Beach, Florida - OPA, 11-13 June 2010

Key West, Florida - SBI/OSS, 7-14 November 2010

I haven't seen the SVL Class together since St Clair, Michigan ???

That's 3 races they haven't been to.

Anyone know if Martin plans to move forward for 2011 or is all of this but dead now after a Fountain came out and dusted the fleet ???

P1 founder is gone, the venue is still in operation in Europe, but I don't know how it's going to go here. I like the hp/wt rules, they bring good parity so I hope P1 will flourish here.

I'm not sure but did the SVL fleet ever make the minimum number to qualify for the P1 money? Didn't they need 10 boats?

We only had enough boats to qualify for the P1 money in Biloxi.

The minimum boat count was 8. If Im not mistaken, some money was distributed to those who attended St. Clair, even though there were only 6 boats. We were 2 boats short in Sunny Isles. (missing Pirate, Time Bandit, Typhoon)

Unfortunately, some teams that committed earlier this year, never made it. IE: Pig Iron, Bronx Phantom, and Absolutely not.

At this point in time we are awaiting Martin's plans for next year. Last I heard, He was finalizing a rule book.

At least there was some additional payout earned. I hope next year you guys get it at every event.

I have no doubts the money was there. It was up to us to stick to our committments, which we did not. This has been a problem we faced all year long. If It was up to me, I would have the teams put up a bond, to guarantee they will show. If they miss a race, for any other reason than a blown motor or damaged hull, they forfeit their bond. Even if the riding crew cant make it, have substitutes on standby, so the boat still shows.

That is a good idea. If all would buy in.
