No. Just what Richie told me when we started servicing the boat. He said they almost hit 1100 on the dyno.
When we raced super cat. The engines were 510 CID, 12.1 Compression, APBA Heads (Stock Casting), and every one had the same Demon carb. Mercs were a little over 750HP and Sterlings were close to 800HP.

And ALOT of hard work, tons of time and some very expensive diagnostic equiipment went in to achieving that result too. Thats why 99% of whats out there does not run like those. The drivability is better than ALOT of big power EFI motors I have been in. Well....you saw how they do. Debbie can drive it around the dock with just the shifters...no throttles...never die and they do not have all that stupid blower surge crap that went out of style with the Bee Gee's in the early 80's. Nothing like a boat pulling up to the dock...surging 2000 rpm and barely making 900 to 1000hp. I always look at it like...you can make alot more power with the right parts, TUNE and engine builder and not have any of that nonsense. If you are making 1500HP.....thats one thing....but below that....there is no reason for 1000 to 2000 rpm blower surge these days. Romers skater was doing it....but after he laid down a 186mph pass.....I thought.....now I know why it was cutting up like that! He had PSI's and was making some SERIOUS power.
