32' Hustler - HP500's = 85 mph
33' Powerplay - HP500 = 83 mph
31' Bullet - HP500's = 78-80 mph????
35' Cafe (flat bottom) - HP500's = 75 mph?

Rough numbers but I'm guessing they're pretty close.

cockpit and cabin

1. Hustler - most cabin headroom and good size.
2. PP/Cafe - cabins a similar in space
3. Cafe - biggest cockpit of them all, 2nd to the Bullet????
4. PP - smallest cockpit.

how do we figure the value between a pleasure boat vs an X race boat thats now been converted to a pleasure boat. the race boat was originally a staggered boat which has been converted to a side by side set-up. anyone ive ever dealt with figured an ex converted race boat to be worth 50-60 cents on the dollar compared to a pleasure use boat. for instance this 1996 full pleasure version http://www.boattrader.com/listing/19...-Deck-97539166 vs this one which was an x b-class boat originally a staggered racer and converted to a side by side pleasure boat http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o32380-en.html

Those boats are dogs. Get you a nice 38 or 33 scarab avs and run 80 on stock 502 mags. Those old cigarettes will look nice in your rear view mirror.

I would say this, it depends on what type of boating your lookin to do. If you want to do weekend trips and sleep on , ect...then go for the pleasure boat. BUT remember youll be sacrificing speed and performance. If your a weekend warrior type, bar to bar, or just day trips and like to really run the boat through the rough, x race boat would be more fun. The x race boats price depends on what has been done to it since it has been race. If your buying a boat in race trim, presently running poker runs, it may need some freshening. If the boat hasnt run races for years, has been all freshened, should be worth more.

Tex...a 38 is a little big for my needs, a 38 AVS is a low 70 mph boat w 502's and the 33 high 70's (been in them both). the 33 avs is a squirrley boat unless you get the Volvo DPX pkg, then it runs and rides like a dream. the 31 bullet may not be as fast as a 33 AVS but will drf out ride her in the rough as will a 35 cafe. the 33 powerplay seems to be the perfect blend of both but just tough to find 1 with bravo's and stock power
