Who's the fastest (by brand)?

Not sure the point of this thread.
Original title was by "brand"; and then shifted to "specific boats."
Bottom line: There USED to be a format for deciding this topic. It was called Factory 1 and Factory II racing. That went by the wayside because folks couldn't play fair.
Now it's pretty much a mute point. Whoever has the tallest wallet goes the fastest, until someone else get's a bigger wallet.

You're probably right when comparing todays speeds they can achieve, and how many more big powered OL's have been built in the last 10 years comparatively. You just don't see many people building monster powered Fountains these days as they did in the 1990's.
Looking from the start of both companies, Reggie has had the fastest boats in comparison to what was considered "fast" at the time. The Ohio Steel, Dragon Lady, INXS, etc Fountains were blazing fast compared to whatever other Vee bottoms out there during their days.

I remember a couple years ago in St Claire (year of the fast cat battle) I heard that in relation to the mystic and the mti that the mystic was 5 mph faster with the same power. The truth to that I don't know, but there was a lot of discussion.
