look at it this way.....you guys are acting shocked that this could happen.....well look how AT advertises...

"we wont hustle you" and we're not "outta your limits"

"its the skater of v bottoms"

all that is a matter of opinion especially the skater statement.

they dont have a track record of racing like skater does nor a v bottom mfg like cig or fountain.

I DONT care if the guy raced a skater.......its opinion and a bad form of advertising to print underlying meanings that trash your competition.
I LIKE AT, I was at the factory and talked to steve wilson, but I dont agree with their sales approach and especially this, its unprofessional and I think in my opinion Pat did know about because it trickles down to the print ads.

WATCH THE MOVIE "GOSSIP" AND SEE HOW FAR TRASH TALK CAN DEVELOP INTO SOMETHING.

P.S. IF YOU GUYS DONT KNOW THIS STEVE IS "PART OWNER OF AT". AT LEAST THATS WHAT HE TOLD ME, OTHERWISE HE WOULDNT HAVE LEFT SEARAY AS THIER DESIGNER.

I have no axe to grind with either company but if I did something like that on company time and equipment I'd be fired on the spot.
Why? Because I have no right to represent the company or voice personal opinions as being those of the company.
True, if he did all this on his own time they can't really do anything. I'll bet he was called in the front office and they had a loooong talk about it and what happens if he does it again.
Either way they should make a public statement explaining this guys actions and attempt to straighten this out.

Well I guess everyone here could considering me one of those AT cheerleaders. I've owned my 32' since '98 and have been very well taken care ever since that time. In fact Pat was helping me out when I was having all those problmes with Aero Tech back in '95, long before I was even a customer. PAT has an extremely strong work ethic and high integrigrity in managing his business. I don't know Steve W. as well however. He came with me one time to try and help me on an issue with Aero Tech at the the request of Pat back in '95. He has always been decent to me. Since however my relationship strted with Pat I still deal pretty exclusivly with him. I don't know anything about PowerPlay except to say that one time I called and asked for liturature along time ago and never got any. I'm sure it was no big deal. They were probaly getting some many request and ran out or something. What Steve did I do not agree with, as far as using multiple screen names for his own agenda. I guess the whole thing regarding what was being said as being considered "slanderous" is for others to decide. I'm sure, knowing Pat like I do that he will take care of the situation regarding Steve. We may never know exactly what this may involve but I know something will be done.

One thing I think everyone can agree on here is that this has whole "fued" between Steve W. and PowerPlay has kept PP and AT on the top of peoples disscusions. Hows that old saying go about even bad publisity is good. Something like that anyways.

Why is there a difference of whether is was done on company time or not :confused: :confused: If I entered a public forum and had less than nice things to say about my competition, regardless of whether is was from work or home at night, I would be immediately fired, as would anyone that works for me.

This was done maliciously and premeditated (the six screen names that had conversations with each other)..... and a little schizophrenic. This was not an honest discussion of the pros/cons of a product that are a fixture of this Board. It was a full blown attempt to discredit a competitor.

The fact that this "Pat" comes on here with a half-hearted apology and partly blames OSO for the explosiveness of the situation, simply shows me that he condones that type of behavior. I for one would NEVER do business with a company that operated in that way.

If I were PP, I would be going after them with both barrels blazing............

for RED STRIPE I don't care if you are on line at home or at work. At a resturant eating dinner, at an offshore race or poker run etc. In this industry you have to be very very carefull what and who you talk to and about. It is a very tight knit community. :cool: You are always accountable for what you type or what comes out of your mouth. You will always be linked to where you get a paycheck from.

Here some info that will shed some light on the situation. I recieved a telephone call from AT Pat today.
He is personally calling every marine business that had anything to do with this slanderous assault headed by his employee. A certain login name was used to drum up negative publicity towards the company that I work for in a thread that envolved one of pat's 32 Thunders. He opologized for the mans actions. I don't know what other companies that he has called but it was very white of him to pick up the phone and to do the right thing!

It's nice he is calling his venders and associates, but has he called Powerplay? In my business we had a competitor run a questionable add refering to a recent sale of our bank, something to the effect that they were the bank that didn't "sell out". Our bank CEO and our bank president got a call from the president of that bank and the CEO of that bank monday (it ran on a saturday) after it ran apologizing for the add and outlining what actions they took aginst the marketing department head. Our CEO was still pissed but at least they had the guts to pick up the phone and admit that wasn't the way to do business and take our displeasure head on. When I ran into the their president a few days later he appoligized to me too and I just run our mortgage department.

What about the perspective customers this "may" turn away? Has he addressed that? I am not casting stones but if I was at the point of buying another boat I would not be satisfied with what has been made public on his part.

Thats just one mans opinion.

I think the moderators and or Board Gods, really need to lock all these threads so this childish 2nd grade bickering and *****ing at eachother stops.

Second, I agree, people are allowed to voice their opionions on business conduct and what not, that is not my issue, but the whole start to this was, cig or active thunder posts all over the place.
You want an AT, go buy one, you want a cig, go buy one.
you want to ask a few questions, fine go ahead, but towards the end of the whole AT/CIG saga was basically bashing cig.
If you have a cig that you thought was junk, then by all means, you can voice your opinion. I read all of the threads and felt that without purchasing one, and being on one for 10 minutes, that does not give anyone the right to open a case of whoopass on a company.
Why does Cig have so many happy customers and repeat business? Cause they make a quality product and their design and style has been proven longer than most boat manufacturers.

AT, okay they have not been around nearly as long as the Cig and when they started out, they bought Sonic molds and altered the deck a touch. That is fine too, but the OH THE AT More than outpreformed the cig in every way possible blah blah, you can NOT gather that information in 10 minutes in some backwater channel.
Now I am NOT bashing AT, I have NEVER been on an AT before so I can not form an opinion on it. Nor will I.
But I will guarentee that my next boat will be a sonic and if AT is still using their hull design from a while back, then I can say that it can handle the rough stuff pretty well.

Reason I said lock the thread is because now the bickering has gone from a few individuals to just about all of us voicing our opinions. This is really getting out of hand and I hate to see friends being sucked into this from other parties. Someone tried to pull Kurt (biggus) into this (cause he bought his Cig) and he wanted nothing to do with it and either do I.

Nuff said, and Im staying out of this, I own a baja and am proud to own a Baja and that is that. No I dont have the nicest, most expensive or wildest or prettiest boat inthe world, but I worked my ass to the bone for every dollar I paid for it, Im redoing the whole thing with my own two hands and it is paid in full and im proud of my accomplishments with it. No one handed me squat to get it, it all came from my own desire to bust my ass to earn it and I have no regrets in buying it and redoing it.

I have always told people about your great service and how you helped me out with drives & parts on many occasions.
Lately though, all of the badmouthing you do against SBI and their racers has turned my stomach.
You have lost a customer and ALOT of references.

If you want to judge me on my views of SBI versus APBA that is your business. I do business with many race teams from either sanctioning body. For the last two seasons we have been taking very good care of Mr. Kevin Erem's 37 Foot Active Thunder Factory II boat with parts and sterndrive backing. He knows my views on both sactioning bodies and he is o/k with them. At the present time we have a 46 foot Skater by the name of PLANETMAN getting ready for the race in Fort Meyers. I personally choose to view APBA events rather than SBI events I personally have raced with both gentlemen. If you do decide to call me again for parts or technical assistance I promise I will not hold a grudge on you by any views you have in your personal life.

Jayl13, we all have to remember that this is pretty much an open forum where people can come and voice their opinions whether they're correct or incorrect. When anyone decides to post their comment/opinion in a particular thread such as I am doing here, you and I are automatically opening ourselves up to REBUTTAL from anyone else who CHOOSES to do so. I believe that is what this forum is for. I agree with much of what you have said. Some stuff of what others choose to say can be wrong, offensive and/or unethical. And the more one says on this forum the more one has a chance of being refuted. Though we're all without perfection, I certainly don't agree with what "Steve" of Active Thunder (if true) has done within this forum under different alias's/names either. We are all capable of digging our own hole within this forum or outside of it. Steve has made his own tree---he's the one who's sitting in it and now EVERYONE can see him. However, it's not good to take pleasure or laugh at the downfall of another or clap our hands at someone elses demise even if they may have had it coming. Neither am I saying that we should look the other way. But we are held accountable for what we say by others and sooner or later the truth always has a way of finding us out-------It's how we HANDLE the truth when it DOES find us out.

HEY LISTEN YOU GUYS----

There's a movie now playing at the theaters called "JOSHUA". There is hardly any publicity behind it, therefore it's not a real popular movie, but it has a REALLY COOL MESSAGE behind it that I believe we can all benefit/learn from and all relate to including MYSELF! It's been out in the theaters for about a week now and may not be there for long because of it's low popularity. I have already seen it once, but there are still a lot of things I need to learn yet and I probably should go see it again. :o :(
