2010 Technical Rulebook 3/23/2010
1.12.2.
Certification and Sealing - To be eligible for competition in these classes, all individual engines of the approved type listed in paragraph 1.12. above, first must be certified and sealed prior to competition by an SBIP approved source in accordance with the then existing procedures established by SBIP, with the “approved” seals as supplied from SBIP. IT IS THE RACERS' RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE THEIR ENGINE (S) INSPECTED AND SEALED BY an SBIP approved source. If for any reason a seal is broken or the engine must be “freshened” or repaired, the engine must be examined, repaired, serviced and re-certified by an SBIP approved source. Broken or missing seals will be grounds for disqualification and other penalties.
1.13.5.
Modifications and Changes - No modifications or changes of any type may be made to an engine, or any components thereon, including but not limited to the engine control modules or related internal codes, engine blocks, internal components, ignition systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, exhaust systems, valve systems, induction systems, lubrication systems, camshaft, crankshaft, heads, etc. unless performed by an SBIP approved source or approved in writing by SBIP.
Nothing about an aluminum flywheel unless it falls under "etc"....Maybe they should factory seal the flywheels then.
