I'm sure the posts will come along shortly about safety and of course that is the first thing on all of our minds. These collisions are always a sobering - however unnecessary – reminder of the dangers in this “hobby”. I’ve been involved in countless traffic collision investigations and there’s a saying in that arena: There are no “accidents” only “collisions”. I had started my blog on Powerboat Magazine’s website about this collision but I think Steve David’s blog on PBM summed it up well enough.

Unfortunately the butterfly affect will take its toll on more than we’ll ever know. The only thing we can do is learn from those that have sacrificed so much. If I never read of another boating fatality of one of our “family”, it’ll be too soon. Be safe out there people.

God Speed to all those affected.

To the families and friends of those lost in this tragic accident...our thoughts are with you. Have strength and pull together for it is the support you give eachother that will get you through the toughest of times.

My deepest condolences to those involved.
