World explorer killed in Florida mogul’s boat crash Posted on December 01, 2010 A man who climbed Mount Everest was with Florida real estate tycoon Steven Posner Monday when their high-performance boat crashed in Biscayne Bay and killed them both. See Related Articles Well-known Florida real estate mogul dies in boat crash Clive Warwick, 60, is remembered as an adventurer and world explorer with at least two circumnavigations and a Mount Everest climb on his adventure resume, according to the Miami Herald. Born in England, Warwick moved to South Florida in the mid-1980s, traveling abroad extensively. He traveled, his daughter told the Herald, "because he always said that was the best way to know the world - to see it.'' Warwick got to know the Posner family from being a part of the local boating community. Authorities continue to investigate the deadly boating accident. Click here for the full report. Goldman said Eigelshoven told him his vessel couldn't keep up with the Posners, and he had slowed down to about 75 mph waiting for them to circle back and around.
``That's when he saw the boat coming too close and started turning hard left,'' said Goldman. ``He realized they were coming at him. He turned away from them. That's the last he remembered.'' Efforts to reach Eigelshoven and McLennan Tuesday were unsuccessful. Goldman said he and Eigelshoven visited Stuart Posner in the hospital Tuesday, where he is in intensive care for injuries to his head and upper body.
