U.S. Coast Guard Contracts Tres Martin’s Performance Boat School

Tres Martin's Performance Boat School provides training to the U.S. Coast Guard.

Recognizing the need for specialized training the United States Coast Guard recently engaged Tres Martin's Performance Boat School to conduct operator training for the Coast Guard’s triple engine 33 foot Safe Boats. Starting out with two training sessions on the west coast Tres Martin and Brad Schoenwald created a tailored instructional curriculum to address the specific criteria and terminal performance objectives for the operation of the 33 foot fast response boats. Additional sessions are projected for the future.

The proper operation of high speed craft enables the Coast Guard Crews to achieve success by completing the missions with reduced fatigue and stress to the crews as well as reduced stress on the boats and power units.

Duty coxswains now understand how trim and throttle control can dramatically improve the ability to meet mission requirements, also adding balance and higher skill level of handling in day to day operation of vessels. Most Coast Guard Coxswains operate slower full displacement or semi planning hulls. When the need for faster craft came the boats did not come with specialized training. Now with the implementation of proper operating techniques, tactics, and procedures the Coast Guard Coxswains are much better prepared to deal with the unique circumstances they encounter while conducting their operational missions.

Tres Martin's Performance Boat School offers specialized training for all powerboat types. Principle factors include human behavior response mechanisms and human performance technology applications embedded into all curriculum levels. Tres Martin's Performance Boat School is the only skill based "hands on" training program in the world recognized and accepted by major insurance companies, officially accredited by Powerboat Safety International, and the only program to utilize Instruction based training with Human performance technology employed within the training protocols.

Nice to see that the U.S. Coast Guard recognizes your experience and knowledge which you have gained from Offshore Powerboat Racing and your ability to teach people in the classroom and on the water. Congrat's!

It's about time! The Coasties were starting to get some pretty fast stuff and most of them knew very little about high performance boat handling. Now they get to learn from the best!

It`s a win, win situation for everyone. the USCG gets the training they need, in return they won`t harrass the go fast boaters for going fast.
