Boats vs. Planes
#41
Congrats!!! Stop by 1K1 next summer!! I'm building a 4 bedroom 4 bath hanger that will hold 4 planes. Great bar on the airport we could party at. We should put a fly in poker run together. I will host the Wichita stop! We could take a week and hit four or five stops. Another one could be Grand lake 3O9er and we could go boating there!! I'll host that stop as well. Then we could go to LOTO and on and on!! Better make Florida a stop as well!! Anyway kind of a cool idea if we could put something together.

Hate to be Debbie downer but......
Those things arent called doctor killers for nothing
The cirrus sr22gts and the cessna Corvalis TC aren't for novices
Too easy to fly and too easy to get into serious trouble
I'm buying a fraction of a diamond da40xls as an hour builder before I move into a HP plane like that.... And that was not my intention when I started... I was thinking the same path as u... But after reading all the accident reports on Aopa.com and talking with my club/ school... NO WAY
Be safe and have fun

The parachute lulls people into a false sense of security.... Hence the doctor killer nickname... Kills as many as it saves

I've flown the 172 172RG 182 206 and 400
The 400 is like none of them. All the others are easy to fly. The 206 was super easy to fly. Very docile. It's a heavy hauler and feels like a buss.
The 400 is a lambo on steroids. Everyone has their opinion on what they feel is safe. I feel with proper transition training and practice the 400 will be safe for me.
Also going for a 4 day cessna course with my plane to get some great training in 2 weeks

From my experience all the high wing Cessnas fly about the same. Slow on the controls & nose up feeling.
The 206 is a good plane, but it likes the fuel for no faster than it is.
