Me, but no offense, he is a drifter (cars not homeless). Drifters are only "car" guys in Asia it doesnt count in the us.
When he drives the cars he just sits there and says its fast... no ****! Its a $400,000 750HP fukken Lamborghini - I know its fast.
Since I am no literary genius - its like this:
US Top gear is like soft porn on the playboy channel. You never see any penetration and its boring.
UK Top Gear is like hard core PORN with Jenna Jamison or something. You watch it and you feel like you are part of the experience. They make you feel like part of the driving experience.
By the way Cash Bar, are you from Atlanta?

I think it is too close of a copy. Format the same, stage the same, writing attempted to be the same. I am totally surprised they don't have a turn named Chicago on the test track. I mean come on, name the shows test driver the stig??? really? really??

I never liked the way they dont show American cars the respect they deserve. Being a big fan of Corvettes and someone who would never buy or drive a European car UNLESS it was Italian I obviously have a biased opinion.
But they did say that the Ferrari F40 is the ultimate supercar which I couldnt agree with more.
I have wanted one of those since I was a little kid.
Owning a Ferrari of some sort is definately on the bucket list.

Well one thing you can count on with Top Gear US......
Due to advertising commercials, you'll never hear those hosts criticize the crap out of a car just like you never read a car mag run down a car. They go just sooooo far and then they pull up. Personally, I like hearing someone call a spade a spade just like Top Gear UK does. I was cracking up when they tested a 2010 Porsche 911GT and had issues like a gear shifter knob fall off or an A/C vent fall out of a dash. They commented, "Bloody hell - is this the best German engineers can do for someone who is spending 90K British Pounds?"
But - like I said, I like the hardware so I tolerate the three "hosts".

They certainly did not like the Chrysler 300, but the car they really did like in that episode was basically a GM car. They did however like the Vette, Charger, and the Cadi CTS. They also have made comments on the Ford GT several times. They also really liked the Mustang even though it does have 40+ year old tech for the rear suspension.
Let's face it they are in the UK. Eropean cars is what they drive, so that is what they are going to review. Let's also face the fact that they are also reviewing the upper end cars such as BMW's, Benz, Lambo's, and so on most of the time. We in the US really only have the Vette and the GT. They do plenty of slammin of the UK cars. They are always making fun of the Alpha's, they even go after Aston about their gear box and thats a BIG money car.
As such I don't think the US made cars have gotten to bad a rap. They always list the Ford Mondeo, and Focus as their favorite lower priced cars. So for the limited time the US cars get into the show, I think they have done OK.

Don't forget that Jeremy Clarkson owned (or maybe still owns) a Ford GT. The first day he drove it to the studio, it wouldn't start when it was time to leave.
Richard Hammond also owns a late 60's Mustang.
They simply call a spade a spade. Americans who are offended by some of the things they say about American cars seem to conveniently overlook all the trashing those guys do of European cars when they're junk. (Ever hear them talk about TVRs?)

I love the English version, usually lmao at their comments. Have seen them trash more than one high $ euro car on the show. Haven't seen the us version after hearing that it sucked but have the donzi episode set to dvr.

Just saw the US version, didn't even know it exsisted i thought History picked up UK version. Anyway it was terrible. Uk version used to be awesome but know they do some pretty dumb stuff from time to to time. At least they can drive and are no afraid to light some rears.

The show is not as good as the UK one, but it also is 4/5 episodes in. Check the UK version season 1, then compare. They will develop more chemistry, or they'll swap guys (just like UK version).
Overall it is an entertaining show, w/ some decent film of awesome cars and some funny crap (moonshine challenge was hilarious). Something that much better on Sun at 10? Some better American carguy entertainment on? I watch Motorweek, but it's boring as **** in comparison. Give the show a chance, and just put the UK out of your mind. I can't believe how many American's fawn over some crap just because of an accent!
