40 Skater ID ???
I am trying to find some old race shots of my Skater 1992
it is unique in the fact that it had four seats and engine hatches that had 3 hinges on each side of the hatch, opening the engine compartment more than any other Skater I have seen. The title work supports most of this this. Stuart had it built and raced 1992 than raced under other names ??Cat in the Act II is on the title Anthony Izzo and Then Art Girard / Sloppy Joes ? Big Thunder as big Thunder? ( just a thought ) then Martin Marine of Broward. So 4 seater with f 16 and 3 hinges on each hatch on the side of the boat 6 inches down the side. Thinking of some redo and paint options retro race ??? Thanks in advance Jim |
Did you ever talk to Mike B.? He was the one that bought the boat as a race boat and redid it.
|
I tried to find him but no luck, really didnt try that hard to bother him.
If you know him let me know or give him my info thanks. Cheeper to keep her:coolcowboy: Thanks TX |
That's the one that came from overseas and was bought in jersey about 4 years back right? If so I know the Jersey owner well. I can ask if he has any.

Sorry, didn't realize the history you already had. The boat I'm talking about was sold to a guy in Arizona then I think made its way to LOTO. Completely redone. May have been a 90. I think the owners name is also Jim. Sorry I couldn't help.
George I get cornfuzed with him but thats ok:eek: Jim Watson |

Bob Morgan had it as Cat in the Act in 1996 and the first part of 1997. Raced it once in Key West and lake mead. He has a picture of it on his wall in Florida before it was painted but can't post. He bought it from Art and then sold it to Tres Martens dad when he was a boat dealer. Shortly after that it was in texas and I think that guy gave it the paint job it has now. Had 4 seats when Bob had it. That all I know about the boat.
Yep think he raced it raced in Chicago once also. Really looking for some older photos of it when it first started to campaign. Thanks Jim Watson N.D. |
I also think it raced under Shooters and may be Heavy metal back when anthony izzo owned it in key west 93-94

Jim glad to see you are keeping the old girl. Must have been that $150 I sent ya that made it all possible! :lolhit: Too bad you didnt still have my old 14-71 blowers kicking around, looks like you may be needing 'em by summer!!!
Got the itch to get rollin' on my skater project too, this cabin fever must be getting to us. Coming up to MI for skaterfest? |

Yep diesel is killer right now.
Was sad to see the 14-71s go as well, but my engines were setup to run racegas with those so figured i'd go NA and maybe just maybe be able to afford to feed her. Make sure to build a build thread like Hot Pursuit did. |
Dont recall skater ever making a 4 seat 40 race boat,just 46's
