As far as egg beaters go Honda's and Yamaha's are the ONLY way to go. And, believe it or not, Suzuki is a great engine now for the money.

I know.....the little CC I bought last summer has a 150 Yamaha on it but so many of the boats on this site need BBC power.

A friend has the exact same Hurricane boat. They are not heavy at all, and quite easily within the tow capacity of a 1/2 ton truck. Most people believe that tie down will save them no matter what happens on the road. It simply isn't true. Even if ya had two 5000lb tiedowns, if you were to rearend something at 10g's, that little 5000lb boat just put 50,000 lbs of force on those poor straps. Not to mention the D rings pulling out. I always use tiedowns on my boat, but if I were in a real accident, I'm not too confident on them saving the boat.
