Default Super Hero 38 test mule?

Found this white Super Hero that supposedly Michel of Intrepid previously owned. This is maybe the test mule boat from the early days of Super Hero?

That sure looks like one of the Buzzi 38's? Which one is it????

To me it does not look like the first pleasure one with the 300 Cummins in it, something looks different, could it have been built by Intrepid and not Buzzi???? This boat was after my time I'm guessing either way I'd give my left nut for that boat - I have 3 kids and dog now so the nut is just taking up space away no big loss

Thank you for posting that one. I think the one above came from Italy because I doubt that SH/Intrepid made a mold and then made another one for this:

Those drives are still available for boats that do not have the bustle.

Where have you taken those pics? Do you have some of that boat from other angles?
I wonder how many were made of those 39' and 46':

are any of those old step bottom race boats for sale today and what are they worth??? how much would it cost to put that third drive back on?? is there any old diesel power available, say 650hp, for reasonable money??

olli - that video is great - nice find! They are still very nice looking boats in my opinion, real wave crushers (I'll be careful not to offend the Tribe and say eqaul to an Apache 47)

302 -
- no idea what is for sale
- doubt you would find 1 of those drives used and what they cost new???
- as far as diesels go, old diesels are old diesels - the Seateks were salt water cooled with lots of aluminium parts so if one was sitting for years rest assured you're buying some (lots?) parts for it. Second, 650hp of old mechinical fuel injection, fixed timing diesel engine is going to be an old smoking engine with a very bad power curve. I would bet a new 600hp Cummins C would run circles around an old 650 SeaTek, the only advantge the SeaTek has is it revs higher otherwise the Cummins would be superior. Get the bigger block Cummins (what was call an L-10 back in the day) you have more weight but god awful amounts of power and it'll go like hell.

My advice and what I would do, if I could afford it was update a boat like that with nice new electronic diesels and go run it for a couple thousand hours while other rebuild their gas engines!

note - if you found 3 - 380hp Cummins B's for sale used that boat would run good with them if you had the right gears, even 3 - 330's would work - not super fast but run forever and ever???

What speeds would you predict for that boat with the different HP you are talking??? Would it be better to go with two big diesels instead of three smaller ones??
