Someone say tandem dyno? :drink:
Heres a setup I did for the Nascar boys. Dual eddy current with the plan to split over two cells and join with an AC to give motoring capabilities at a later date. As for accuracy of the water brakes...lets just say they have their place for certain applications but no where near an EC or AC. They were amazed by the results of this setup. This project was especially challenging as they wanted to run the full car exhaust (without modification) which crossed from one side to the other BEFORE the dyno, requiring the motor to be pushed forward. The harmonics of a pushrod, high rotating mass V8 spinning at 10,000rpm 2' from the dyno was a bit of bear to manage lol No where near the power requirements needed here, but figured I'd show a sampling of whats being done out there. Can't wait to see this engine at the show next week if it makes it. Keep us posted. Jeff |
It is not designed for 2000hp, but you can run an entire race on it! Roush Yates' AVL:

And thanks for all the compliments on the dyno, fortunate to have a great group here.

What about the diesel guys?
|
I could be wrong but I bet the rpm he's looking to run is too high for a dyno setup to run diesels.
Hope this engine makes a showing in Miami next week, keep us all posted. |
Thanks for the replys and calls, I think we have a couple options that will work. We don't have time before the boat show to get it somewhere we have it back apart trying to polish the engine right now so it will look good at the show then when we get back we will take it some where to do the dynoing.
The diesel guys can handle alot of torque but most of there's are rated for 4-5k rpm max we need around 10k rpm ability. And we will not have much torque, with the boost turned up it should only go to around 1600 ft lbs |
