I come here for information and advice about a passion I love, but certainly don't know near as much as most here. But I got to tell you, I also come here to be entertained and I just stumbled across a thread that made me laugh out loud. It was about Mini Hawk and a check being sent to a charity and it had all the regulars going at it with even Baja and Dolla blasting each other. Then it was locked. Too sad, as it is winter and cold and this banter was just fun to read. Why do they lock this stuff? Who does it hurt?

How does it hurt him? You mean being banned? Or subjected to haranguing and jabs? Or just being allowed to play here? Please explain? Just curious.

He's at least unstable and one of the threads that he started proved he couldnt take it. His language was disturbing.
OSO doesnt need the exposure .

Some get locked to soon when it's just smack talking, others get locked when whats said could be libel and used to sue someone. I would bet most get locked from November-April, winter sucks and we get testy.

If you have not had any history with him I can understand why you question the lock down, but there is very good reasons and it is best for him and anyone else involved.

It might just be that OSO wants to attract advertisers and keep the ones they already have. The BS is bad for business.

Alot of people have come and gone from this site over the years. Many have gone because of the BS.

I stay cause i like to watch train wrecks and this time of year there are more wrecks than there are trains LOL :lolhit:

I don't have a problem with the "Mods & OSO" or anyone else, just curious how things work here, as I am new. I did post a thread about the Beware & Stolen forum that was not accusatory or inflammatory, but rather just a suggestion on how that section could possibly help this industry and the people who choose to patronize it. Apparently the "mods" took it as positive, as they changed the wording of the rules for posting in that section. Some people seem to come here to simply flame others and try to incite people with negative comments designed to make their own egos inflate at the expensive of others. I see this on other types of forums and it is sad they can't communicate in a positive and informative manner, since most hold much knowledge and wisdom brought about by experience in a subject that would be very helpful to the newcomers. I do not come here to anger anyone, insult anyone or cause any trouble, only to learn and possibly help someone else if I happen to know any information that they might find helpful. And also sometimes, to just have a little entertainment in the cold winter time. If I offended anyone, my deepest apology.

You have to understand that MiniHawk has had a long history with OSO.... He was even served with legal papers due to his actions in the past. This last chance was a test - he failed terribly after being guided by my self and others on how internet forums work....

I always thought that the mods on this site were fairly liberal with how long they let threads go. You should also understand that there is a lot of PM's and emails that go on in the back ground when we are trying to deal with people that are out of line. In fact I remember when the "other" board was started up they said that they were going to keep any of that from happening at all. As a Mod. you are kind of damned if you do and damned if you don't. I miss Cuda's rants they were about as funny as anything that has ever been posted on OSO but that did not make them good for the board....

Most of the guys on here that pick on kids are tool bags. They stand up for guys that steal boats and commit felony's. This kid came to NJ for vacation with his family. I let him hang out at my marina two days. Never had a problem. I even took his whole family out boating one day. They are awesome people. What we need is the tool bags to stop with kids and stand up to the thieves you think so highly of. Even the one moderator is friends with these guys. Hey but Curtis , Joe and the trash man can post what they want. min hawk. *****e$
