They're both the best of the best for what they are, sit down and stand up. If you want a stand up, pantera. If you want a sit down, kryptonite. A 28 footer is a 28 footer, period.

That's my video by the way. I was going out of the inlet from flat water to TRUE 3's in the matter if seconds. Tough to anticipate in a 28 footer.
Thats my boat in the other video.

I havent ridden in a Kryptonite but 90+ with 650hp is pretty awesome. I own the black Pantera race boat. The fastest I saw with my old motor was 82mph on GPS with a non labbed 26p bravo. My new motor is very fresh, made 675hp on the dyno and we are thinking 85mph. [email protected] Pantera told me that with that power 85 should be about bang on.

85mph with 675hp aint bad in a non stepped 28ft single! but I have no cabin and no frills in my boat and my girlfriend hates it. I dont mind the lack of cabin and the strippers like the extra room that my girl refusing to get in the boat allows.

I run extremely rough water in Lake Ontario and Georgian Bay. The Pantera gets beaten hard every weekend.

I have run it at full throttle in rough water many times and a 28ft v bottom boat with HP, full throttle in rough water will be one of the most fun experiences you can have. it iwll also occasionally scare the phucking **** out of you.

A 28ft boat in rough water will only go as fast as your balls are willing to take you....... all things being equal.

If you want to go fast in a 28 ft boat go buy a 28 Skater. My next boat will be a 32 or 36 Skater. I dont plan on selling the Pantera when I get it.

Compared to the Krypto, I thought it had significantly more. Keep in mind we're talking 28's here...

Try a 28' AT or 28 Apache for freeboard, you're really in those boats compared to the Pantera. I always thought the 28 Pantera was better suited as a sit-down, for a "rough water" boat it always seemed strange standing up, but that's just me I guess.

as far as between the 2 i would say Pantera.

But my choice would be Apache

Hard choice, but in WI, the great lakes, I'd go with Pantera.

Personal choice - apache.

I'm 5' 10". Standing up in a 28 pantera the windshield is slightly higher than my waist.

is the kryptonite a true 28 or is the swim platform counted in there?

Apache 28 is more of a twin engine boat.

there are like 1-3 singles.

If twins was a requirement in the debate I would say Apache should definately be considered but the issue then becomes age.
