Just curious, what do you use to shred Kevlar? I know that stuff tears up drills and saws when you try to cut through it in a hull.

Federal Law prohibits the sell or use of used vests and kevlar items such as ACH's and IBA's if its been used in a combat enviroment due to depleted uranium and all that mess. Plus, its a biohazard with blood and what not. Check out Ebay rules with people trying to sell all that stuff. Major illegal.

I use a tire shredder. Shreds them like they are nothing. Very quick.

Thanks for all the ideas. Keep them coming.

I wonder if you could work with a home builder and use it for insulation? It couldn't be much worse that regular glass insulation to work with and it should be a pretty good insulator if all shredded up.

Not illegal to own but yes illegal if used during a crime. They hit you with add time for the vest. Many private security etc use them. Too bad they can't be used. Friend of mine works at a co that does marine gov work you should see the beautiful al heads that get trashed
