Outerlimits Ilmor SV43

2 Attachment(s)
The latest SV43 hit the water the day of the Florida Powerboat Club boat show poker run. The boat powered by Gen IV Ilmor Marine 725hp V10's coupled to Ilmor Indy drives ran an impressive 117mph out of the box. Keep in mind this was the first run for the boat, full of fuel, five on board, and hard on the rev limiters. With some prop testing and a lighter load the boat will run 120+mph. Stay tuned for more pics and numbers on the Outerlimits open SV43!!

Great #'s with ONLY 725's. And they sound good to boot.

Big Time 02-28-2011 02:10 PM

That is amazing! Any more pictures to show us? Thanks!
I heard the Ilmor's almost use half the fuel GPH compared to an Merc motor that is another awesome thing for Ilmor!

I think Joe told me 30% less fuel at WOT.....no supercharger to feed!

Great numbers and another great boat from OL!

OldSchool 02-28-2011 05:11 PM

I was on the Thursday departure. Never saw it at Islamorada. What happened?

animalhouse 02-28-2011 05:41 PM

They did the Friday Run. They ran hard to the Lunch stop, and then headed back home so some guests on board could make their travel plans home for another commitment. The owner decided he would spend the rest of his kid's school vacation boating with the family instead of spending the weekend at the tiki bar.

Awesome Looking Boat! Great Work Mike And Crew!

I am sure if it meant selling the boat or not, it COULD be an option!:lolhit:

Joking aside, that is one of the most badass boats I have ever seen. It has just the right balance of hardcore race/utility and pleasure useability. Nice work!:drink:

OL40SVX 03-01-2011 08:46 AM

Ballpark numbers on this boat with the Ilmor package, depending on options is in the lower 500's.

omerta one 03-01-2011 10:39 AM

Can it hold the new Merc 1100's?

animalhouse 03-01-2011 11:04 AM

The boat can handle any power desired. We are building one with 1350's in the near future.

Wow, what's the expected top end on that thing, 160 mph?

Well the SV43 race boat will easily eclipse this with similar power, I would assume that yes, 160 is very possible.

eddie 03-01-2011 12:13 PM

Very nice looking boat.

What makes this boat faster than the SL44 with 700 SCi's?

animalhouse 03-01-2011 12:17 PM

weight is the major factor eddie, however the lower center of gravity and the aerodynamic's also help.

ILMORdude 03-01-2011 09:39 PM

Great Job to everyone involved. The owner is a class act also. Its in my top 3 of customer boats!!

omerta one 03-02-2011 11:26 AM

IMHO it is the baddest open cockpit sit down V I've ever seen.
