The video with your Go Pro is awesome. I'll have to get one so I can shoot you as you blow by next time we see you! |
114mph
Seemed to porpoise for a long time. Trim setting or normal tendencies? |
I don't care how fast, that was cool!!

|
whats that whinning noise at the end?
|
105/107
|
ok, so what's the number ?
|
100 and the whinig noise was i lost power to the port fuel pump and killed the motor so we coasted down on one motor no biggy found loose wire at the pump will get a longer one and higher speed in aprill when i come back down thanks guys it is a blast and yes does porpoise working on that
|
That porpoise would drive me crazy!
Good run! |
They sound good Jim. Have a safe trip back. The waters still hard here.
|
Exactly...

Good run! JIMKID, does the boat ever power through that or was it the way you were trimmed, the water seemed fine...??? |

If he was at 100 he was probably just at the point of powering through it but lost his fuel pump.

yeh,you wouldn't think you have to go over 100 in a 30 ft. skater so it doesn't porpoise!!!

Think he,s one of the first ,if not first with such lightweight engines in the back, and trying to get it balanced out. different props with different blades ,driveheight ,etc could make the difference ,give him some time to work it out ! The boat looks great ,keep us updated when you put her in the water . |

308 Skater Inboard w/Sterling 700's
4 Attachment(s)
If anyone has a question on how a 30' Skater Inboard runs, this 308 Skater is owned by Connie, she is Mike at Sterling's GF. It has Sterling 700HP motors, TNT built Bravo XR drives, Hering 6 blade props or 5 blade B-Blades and was rigged at Skater. The boat runs 135mph full of fuel with 5 people in the boat and no porpoise at any speed. If anyone would like to talk to either one of them about this boat call Mike at Sterling or PM me for Connie's work number.
|
Connies Skater looks way better in person, not that the pics look bad. I have seen it up close near Harsens island. Sounds even better.
|
the porpoise goes away i didnt trim it and i was playing with weight had some up front and it really hurt it going to take the weight out and will help its nat that bad im getting it worked out remember that boat is origanally built for out bourds so you have to play a little with inboards i luv the boat itsa rocket
