flat spot on the existing tire still on the trailer with a locked up break and a busted axle and a bent up fender. My guy hooks up to it, drives less than 100 miles and the axle and wheel come flying off

To have it returned in anything less than the condition it was in when it left is wrong. Whoever borrowed it is responsible for putting the trailer back to it's pre-borrowed condition. We all understand accidents can happen, it's how a person responds that brings to light their true character.

Was the trailer dipped in Florida? (Are you sure?) Could this have lead to the brake locking up?
