I had a painted one and it chipped very easy. I had it powder coated with two coats for $160. It turned out great and is very durable.

Paint is repairable.

Powder Coating would be my choice....Lasts alot longer, doesnt chip as easily and always has a very nice, glossy look when waxed and maintained regulary.....my .02....:drink:

I'm a big fan of Imron.

Weve had extremely bad luck with Powder Coat and salt water. Imron is very durable.

I've been using it for years on all my boats....Great stuff.

Just make sure when it's powder coated that it's properly stripped, etched and cleaned. Then request your shop use a powder primer before topcoat. This helps mechanical adhesion tons and is far more durable then straight topcoat
