What's the fastest anyone has gone in a mini hawk and with what power? As always, pics would be appreciated.

I was running in the 40s with a 25 Merc, CMC 5.5 Setback/Trim and a Bblades "race" prop

From my experience, I do not recommend putting a 50hp Merc on one:eek: I don't know how fast it went but it was scary fast.

Also, when docking overnight... recommend using good ropes and GPS system.. for tracking purposes once the bot comes loose...

I see you in all the brand forums except maybe Force.
They were renting these little boats with 45hp outboards in Cancun and they really scooted across the waves. Appeared to be going 50mph! And they took the chop pretty well.

I've had mine up to 29.9 w/ a 25HP longshaft which is way too long for the boat. I am working on changing the setup for next year. I've got a 40HP waiting to go on it.

A guy on Scream&Fly claims to have had an 80HP on his. I read that he had to add ballast weight to the front of the boat.

I was looking for a MH project boat. Put a small block in, and get up to tripple digits, on pump gas.

Got 49 on GPS out of mine with the new 40 Tohatsu TLDI and a 16 pitch chopper,
The 40 Four stroke was too heavy.

Had to put the trim tabs on it to stop it from hopping and after it gets up around 40 I can put them all the way up and it will take off. Shoots a roster tail about 20 feet behind it. Runs straight but you better put the tabs back down before you let off. Since I am sitting on the floor I can feel it flex, lol
