Im not knocking Nortech in any way. I like them. But if Reggie is building a custom cat I would think it would be MTI or Skater, like he has done in the past. Him teaming up with Nortech would def be interesting though.

Nortech is a great boat, but if they teamed up with Reggie they could greatly improve the bottom design especially on the V , they then could compete on Outerlimits level as far as speed goes!

You seem to forget. Fountain has been broke more than once. Peter has plenty of Cash.

Wasn't there a Scism/Fountain cat? The 42 Dirty Duck or something?

All the early MTI's/Scism pleasure boats were built together with Fountain and called Fountain Scism cats.

Just a crazy thought...

Fountain is a great boat I am biased because I have one, but they are still great boats. But I think fountain has failed at times due to their marketing. They might be big in the race world but thats not going to account for the majority of your sales. For one look at the fountain merchandise available for trying to get parts from them a real pain.

To the best of my knowledge, nothing is under construction.

As for whether or not it's "hype," the story itself was straight reporting on the stated future plans of an industry notable. (To that end, there's a lot more about his stated plans in the latest issue of Powerboat.) If the catamaran materializes, I'll report it. If RF Powerboats never produces a single boat—I'll report that, too.

But what I think you're asking is if Mr. Fountain is announcing his plans to create hype for RF Powerboats. And at this point, I don't have an opinion on that. Without question, Mr. Fountain has always been "public" in his proclamations. Always.

Why would anyone want to build a catamaran anyway? The cat market has too much production and a little or small audience anyway. Skater, MTI, Mystic, Doug Wright, Spectre, Outerlimits, Motion, Nortech, Statement, Nordic, and the list goes on.

What ever happened with this?

they couldn't afford to buy a skater and splash it.:D
