That's probably the hardest part - trying to find a decent surveyor that can do both structural and mechanical especially on a performance boat.
I have found most surveyors are not worth what you pay them -- IMO
now saying that I'm sure there are some really great ones -- just few and far between.
It's warm enough now to take it for a test run if the initial look proves worth while. I would b more inclined to drive down do a good overview, test drive if worthy--- buy the gas/ etc so it's not out of his pocket,
then if all that goes well call in the surveyor for what may worry you -- structural / drivetrain/ rigging.
