The thread is closed for everyone to post.

I must say I'm surprised how you progressed with your thread. I will be honest...I don't agree with your thread being locked...but I can see why after the last post.

IMHO you cost your dealer more than your loss(in bad advertising) who I'm sure all would agree was bending over backwards to resolve this problem. I don't usually say things like this...but you sound like you drove the boat like an airhead blond. You know the type....the engine lights on or the oil pressure light...drive it til it quits or if they get lucky made it home as you did.

If you continue on your path with your train of thought I say your dealer should just brush you off and tell you to go F yourself!

Most of the boat dealers I have delt with in my past would have told you to F yourself on the 1st call!

Sorry and hope you resolve this......Ever heard of give the man a chance?

little harsh there I doubt somebody with a boat that cost that much is going to drive like they stole it, maybe though. But your right he probably already cost them more than it would have cost just to fix it. I saw shogrens answers was to take it back on trade, if thats the case I hope the trade would be the same they sold it to him for. My opinion on this is Shogren probably didnt know the history, maybe they checked as hard as they could maybe they didnt. But once this all came to light they should have taken the boat immediately or fixed it.

I been giving the man a chance since last October. Read all the thread and I think your own questions will be answered. I been boating for 25 years and this is my first real problem. Get the facts...

I think we should try to keep this thread about censorship. I'd love to shift gears. WTH?

censorship always boils down to two things. Either way money is involved and people want to make as much as possible and have no road blocks and will run over anybody that gets in the way. Or second people want others to behave how they want them too, usually for money so revert back to number one. But can be other reasons why they want to act a certain way like political or religous beleifs

Not having been a paying member on this site for all that long, but reading and enjoying OSO for years, I have noticed a distinct and concise thread locking pattern.

If there is a direct threat, or a demeaning attitude toward a member by another, the thread gets locked.

If there is any type of racial commentary, the thread gets deleted or locked.

If a paid advertiser comes under fire by a member, or a group of members, the thread is DELETED or locked.

Excessive profanity, same thing...

I know I am missing lots of other reasons, but I still can't figure out why certain members have gotten banned, or some of the more controversial posts locked or deleted???

Censorship is good to a point but... On OSO BS walks and reality talks.

You are not able to come on OSO and say, do, or be, something that you are not, for very long so why not just leave some of these threads alone?

Broker claimed that it did that damage in 6 months, I didnt think so either does the repairman. Use the BBB you might never get out of it what you want but be reasonable when you file its all on line and takes 10mins. Either way it will be a stain on their record if they dont offer anything. But if somebody is willing to hose a combat vet they will not hestiate to hose you either
You bought a boat without even looking at it?????????????

If I was deployed overseas, I think I would have kept banking the boat fund untill I got home, then bought one with a survey... but hey, Im just a drunken muppet....

yup stupid now I am to the point of putting a collection can out because of this. But I paid for an inspection and had videos taken. Well hind sight is 20/20 and probably the worst choice of my life. Paid somebody almost 200 bucks to make sure engines ran and there were no leaks. So I dont know.

To put it this way. I have been dreaming of a Fountain since I was a boy and finally had the money to pull the trigger. Well where I live finding a fountain is few and far between and most likely had to go out of state, which I did. I live in Upstate NY boat was bought in IL and trucked to my parents in MI then hauled it back when I got back. Well being in the Army a lot of things you cant do because to be frank your not home that much. I was hoping to come home to the boat of my dreams after a hard deployment and hitting the water in the boat Ive always wanted. Well now I am paying 4 grand before it can even hit the water. THe money bothers me but it's just sickening over all to me because its been a want for such a long time and I finally made it happen. I almost wish I could return it and have a brand new one or a newer one but that I could never afford.
