Non-boating favor to ask
 

My oldest son (16) has gone from guitar hero to guitar to rap (not my taste but to each his own!). He's put out what he called an album and together has gotten a good number of downloads over 10,000 in total. He just did his first music video and he needs some more views, if you can see it in your heart just go here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzzAT...&feature=feedu click on it watch a couple seconds if nothing else so he gets some more views and I can cheer him up a little.

Like I said he had good success with a few of his songs but the video, well when you see the views it's not doing all that well. For a 16 year old, I think he did good job with production, editing etc, I'm very proud of him, it shows he's growing and exploring new avenues and that's better than a street corner drinking beer like I did!

Hey it's kids and thank you all, do you all tolerate stupid azz stuff for your kids? It's a phase like performance boating, people go in and out of it depending on family, needs at the time, I just hope when he's 50 he doesn't pick up and start rapping again:eek:

I like rap but more old school stuff so its not my type. With that said for a young kid with crude cameras and mixing capabilites its not to bad. He might have potential. Problem is there is quite a few people out there that have potential like this and find it hard to make it. I would say go for what he wants but still get an education so he has a fall back

You guys are great - YES we are pushing education above all else, i don't mind helping him, buying some equipment for him as long as grades stay good. Grades drop - watch out!

Well Its not my style but I like how he just let his music entertain you without all the show- flash (cars, girls, outfits).

Something funny, I can watch the video over and over but with the sound off, I can't listen to him and watch it freaks be out! He can't watch it either, he edits it and puts it togethr but can't sit there and watch it!

I find myself biting my tongue at times when they tell me a story about something and in the back of my head i just want to come out and say "Oh thats nothing....we once did....." But i fear if i start telling them stories they will get more ideas and try to do the same or top the things i have done! Dont need any of that as i'm surprised i have survived this long without serious injury...have a few scars from stiches etc...but never anything bad ;)

I am impressed....not bad for a 16yr old. If they did that with a backyard production you never know what might happen if he has a professional production behind him.

I'll tell you something funny, he uses other people's beats for his songs - since the video is doing so much better - THANKS AGAIN TO ALL MY OSO'ERS. He finished his own beat today that he's been working on but I think he was a little scared to finish, so this pushed him more!
