It is a windshield. I had same boat and the race fairing looks better and does same job. You dont have to worry about breaking glass or re doing the metal strips that always fade

I personally won't buy another boat with a glass windshield. They distort things, I gotta see whats in front of me.

Unless you are 5 feet tall that windshield is worthless.292s are very windy in the cabin,so I have no reason not to believe the 271s are the same.Where to you plan on running that boat if you get it?They are very slow to plane and in no way should be considered a rough water boat.

Look for a 29 Fountain or 28 Pantera also before you buy.You will thank me someday.

Will be boating on lake Champlain in northern ny. Everyone says the ride of the formula is great your the first to say otherwise. Do you think the boats you mentioned can be found for same year and motor can be had for same price?also do long weekend sleeping on the boat?

Big lakes can get rough with wakes and in some ways are worse than running in the ocean,so in my opinion that 271 is going to get bounced around. They are very slow to plane from what I have heard which means they are bow light.I feel both boats I mentioned will be better but you will still get bounced around.None of them will be good for a long weekend, can it be done yes but will be tight.
