South FL get together Memorial weekend?

Anyone wanna plan a meet somewhere in south FL Memorial day weekend? Somewhere between say Peanut Island and Islamorada, probably a short run with a raftup, due to fuel prices this year:bsflag: I am open to places/ days 5- 28/29/30, but I am definitely getting the boat wet one of those days if anyone wants to join in:drink:

I have the 700 NXT boat. I will be launching at the Boca ramp.

Due to fuel prices I'm thinking raft up in Lake Boca???

That is a pretty short run with a raft up!

I have no plans...it is a short jaunt across the alley for me...let me know what a definite plan is, so I can reserve a room to stay for the weekend.

Pat,

That is a WAYYYYYY short run to a raftup, even I can afford more fuel than that:drink:, Lake Boca is sounding good, I posted this up on the outboard forum also, and so far lake boca on Sunday is the winner. We could always run out the inlet if it is nice, or go out Boynton, and back in Boca???

Cool,

Just to let ya know, we dont have as much protected speed zones as you do on the west coast, if ya wanna run hard, ya gotta go outside.

Good Deal Bill, like I said, I'll probably be out Saturday and Sunday, one quiet day on saturday for the wife, then she'll set me free to play on Sunday:evilb:. Was gonna try to make Boca bash, but had work at home to get done so I can enjoy the rest of summer.

sprink58 05-05-2011 09:00 PM

I'll try to hook up...thing is ...you know everybody in South Florida with a boat will be in Lake Boca or on the Sand Bar at Peanut Island that weekend...and of course it will rain...Memorial Day always kicks off the rainy season!:evilb:

But hey...WTF...we're all gettin wet anyway!!

Won't be the first(or the last) time I have run from Boca to Delray in the rain to get the boat back on the trailer. Come on down, I would say we would go to Peanut, but holidays up there are just slightly crazier than Boca, and with them toting people over on the water taxi, ya gotta deal with any joe that wants to be there, in Boca ya at least have to have a boat to join in, the party at Boca may be a little quiter, but I kinda like it that way.

rchevelle71 05-16-2011 07:28 AM

Boats all cleaned up and ready to go, I know it is not for 2 weeks, but next weekend we will be out of town up in Cocoa racing:evilb::drink:

rchevelle71 05-24-2011 08:23 AM

TTT,

Weekend is coming up, let us know if you plan to meet us, and your preference for date and time so we can make sure we are prepared:drink:

REDS32 05-24-2011 09:17 AM

Im Dave I have a velocity. I would like to run with you guys. I live in hollywood.

Xray50 05-24-2011 09:40 AM

Come on up Dave, the more the merrier!!! I'm Ray. 26' AO.... Will put in at Knowles Park just north of Linton Blvd on Federal. Nice little run down to Boca Lake. Rchevelle71 will put in here also.

Keith Atlanta 05-24-2011 09:40 AM

We'll be out. Whats the plan?

RChevelle, we need to meet anyway...

rchevelle71 05-24-2011 10:48 AM

Like Ray said,

The more the Merrier

Looks like the plan will be to put in at Knowles in Delray on Sunday 5/29 around 9:30 AM. From there we can run North to Boynton if we want to meet any boats coming from the north. If the seas are nice, anyone who wants, at that point can run the outside to Boca inlet/Lake Boca, others can run the inside, and we will all meet back at lake Boca. I am assuming that the outside runners will all be bigger boats, and will arrive at Boca shortly before the inside boats, which will make for a perfect raftup with the larger boats in the middle.

Ray and I will be in the water in Delray between 9:30 and 10AM(I always run a few minutes late, so 10:00 at the latest), and we can go from there. Let us know if you are coming from the North, so we can meet you inside Boynton inlet, if nobody from the north, we may just putt down to Boca. If you are from the south, and wanna ride up by water and just meet us rather than trailer to Delray that is fine also, you should be able to spot the group of offshores, if not call me at 954-254-0414(Rick), if I don't answer that means I am busy(driving, anchoring, or my beverage was empty and I went for another:grinser010:), leave a message, I will make sure to check the phone often. Ray will bring his grille, and Ray and I will bring some hot dogs/Brats/Rolls/condiments, but feel free to bring more, or some side dishes if you would like. Your beverages will be your responsibility(not gonna try to figure out everones preference) but I usually pack a few extra just in case:drink: Depending on how many boats show, we may need to start a few rafts, or have several boats anchored, dont wanna break loose on a holiday weekend:eek:

Since it is a Holiday weekend, we may not ALL want to use Knowles anyway, spreading the boats across a few ramps will probably alleviate any parking issues, so just let us know your plan, and we will all meetat the lake, or Boynton inlet.

Let's have fun, and keep it safe.

Hope to see y'all there

Rick

Keith,

Bring her to the lake, Mine will be there as well as a few others, We are grilling this time rather than bringing the big crew to the restaurant. If she doesnt like to run around on the boat with ya, have her meet you at a dock in Boca or something, I have thought about doing this with my wife on occasion, as she usually doesnt like staying out all day.

Cool,

Whats your crew look like, Not sure if we will get Mike's done, gotta plumb and wire the jackplate, install steering, and wire controls, plumb fuel, but we will try. If we have to maybe we can squeeze Mike and his wife in somewhere. I have no problem working all day to get it ready, but no sense in rushing it/cutting corners.

Sorry,

Plans have somewhat changed. Saturday was just gonna be me and my wife cruising the ICW, with stops at a few sandbars, it was never intended to be an organized meet, just a "this is where we will be, wave if ya see us" since most wanted to run on Sunday. Since then I have been asked to help get a guy's boat going on saturday so he can join the Sunday run, hence the wife coming along on Sunday rather than Saturday. Sorry if this caused any confusion.

Rick
