I played around with it.
It worked really well and is a great bang for the buck.

Make sure you get the super wide angle lens.

Never tried this products but I just got out the of the army and let me give you my perspective on night vision.

All the stuff I ever used was good stuff and it gave us the edge. BUT IT IS NOT like the movies trust me. The biggest thing is it will probably have less than a 180 degree field of vision. Also you will only be able to see good detail probably 50-100m away. Also if there is no illum(ie moon, or lighting) it wont work as well. These basically take light and intensify it so you can see. And this doesnt have an IR flood so it wouldnt help on a pitch black night. For 2 grand I could find other ways to spend my money. Spot lights, go slow, plotter, etc. If you really want one you can get personal sized ones from cabelas or bass pro for half that and you can have you or your passenger hold it up to see out when needed and you arent mounting more junk to the boat.

Nite Vision Low Lux Camera LIVORSI

I have been using this camera personally for over a year and I have never been in a situation where it does not work.
There would rarely be a situation where there is no ambient light. Pricing is a third of the thermal imaging cameras cost.

I use the portable version with the suction cup. When Im done I put it away. Displays on anything with an RCA video input. www.livorsi.com

Of course your going to say that. But all im saying is night vision isnt what people think. Its better than nothing and works good. But you cant see more miles with it and your field of vision is quite small.. Its cool stuff. But just dont buy something like this and think you can see as good at night as you can during the day

Nite Vision Low Lux Camera

This one is not a magnification and will only see what the naked eye sees during the day. There are however lenses that will allow you to see further out but of course are more money.

i dont know. Just giving you my experiences with it, alot of people have this idea that its like the movies. Night vision is grainy and you can only see really good maybe out to 100m tops. Im not going against or for this product or any product, and it could and might be a useful tool. But in IMO for two grand I dont ride at night and it doesnt make sense but it might for you

Low lux cameras have been around for a while. They work ok under certain conditions and do have some pitfalls. If you are in a changing light situation the IRIS of the camera will adjust. I have a true Thermal camera on my Skater. For me I do want to have to climb out on the bow, have a cable across the deck or forget to bring on the day I end up needing it. Just depends on your needs and budget.
