05 Nordic Heat

Hello I have a 05 heat stock 496ho x drive it has a bravo 1 24p prop. I am getting way to many rpm it has no cup and the blades are razer Sharp. It feels like I'm slipping all the time. Hit the rev limitor with full tank of fuel and four men. I tried a bravo 1 26p and I felt a big difference. I am looking at the powertech offshore 4 blade 25 pitch, has anybody tried this prop? Any ideas for me?

Check the diameter and see if they are the same as a bravo 1 , smaller diameter and you might be on the rev limiter again. I had a 3 blade powertech on my boat when i bought it and bought a bravo 1 as soon as i could. Were the rpm's good with the 26p

Yes i hit around 5000-5100 with the 26p. two guys and full tank of fuel. the powertech im looking at is 15.25 inches same as the bravo 1 prop

If you are hitting 5100 with a 26" prop and that load, maybe you should look into a labbed 28" B1, or experiment with a 27" Mirage+ just to see what happens. I don't think the Powertech will be much different than the B1 26" rpm wise, prolly higher since it's a 25". In my experience the 496HO should be between 4900-5000 rpm's for max power, and the rev limiter is at 5150 I think.

Well it was showing 63-64 mph on my livorsi gps. The water was really choppy white caps. The powertech guy told me the 25 p powertech would be compatible to the b 1 26 p.

The B1 props are normally a bit under the stated pitch. The 26 is more like a 25½ish, that could explain why they are similar.

I had the same boat. Tried a bunch of different props and settled with the stock B24...basically wasted a ton of money. You're at the upper limit of speed right now with that boat and engine combination. Hot humid summer day you'll get 62.

My best was 67 with one person, sea level, cool temps, low fuel, with the tide, slight chop and with the wind. Never duplicated. Some people put a spacer in the drive and picked up a few, most think the X was too high. The guys in the Nordic forum here can give you some ideas.

I just accepted the boat for what it was, stopped wasting money, and enjoyed the heck out of it.

Sounds like the 24 bravo you tried might of been modified if it has "razor sharp" blades. Do you know the history of it?

What about the 26? If that's a 65ish MPH boat and you are propping for 5000, 26P is too much prop.

24P @5000, 15% slip, = 65 MPH.
