Battery jumper box
assorted electrical connectors, fuses, light bulbs, wire, tape, razor blades basic tool kit knife impeller 2 qts each drive fluid, oil |
I run Ilmors. Don't need spare motor parts. Lol
|
Spare ecm with N/A program in case blower self destructs (it has), spare coil, a few hand tools, nuts, bolts and tape. I run a aftermarket ignition box but have no need to carry a spare because on a mpi/mefi motor you can simply revert back to built in ignition if box dies, Smitty

Where are some of you guys going and how big is your boats?
Me, cell phone and phone number to neighbor who has boat. I do keep a tool bag aboard. Basic stuff. socket set. screwdrivers, basic wrench set, knife, hammer and whatever else I can fit in a bag the size of a doctors bag. I have to limit myself. I started to carry around a parts yard at one point. I would never been marooned on Gilligan's island. I could have rebuilt the boat right there in the beach. Just got to be to much. I figure if I cant fix it with what's in the bag then I'll come back for the boat. |

All my stuff fits under the cabin step, so it's pretty much out of sight out of mind. I don't think I would even waste my time fixing something major at our little home lake though. Hell last weekend we launched on one engine, idled to the bar, spent the weekend, then idled back to the ramp. :evilb: |

Here's a little trick I used over the years to determine exactly what tools should be onboard. Put together basic set of what you think you need and whenever you work on the boat weather it be in your shop, driveway or in the dock use only the tool bag on the boat. This includes any work performed on the boat from basic service to pulling engines and drives. Through time add or remove tools as needed, you'd be surprised at how little you need to cary.
Along with most of the consumables listed I also cary a few spare bulbs for bow, stern and or 360 lighting (i've given away far more of those then I have ever used lol). |
