Just like the title says, when you're getting up on plane where do you have your tabs set?

A very wise man once asked me while i was describing prop blow out while trying to get on plane
" why do you want to put the brakes on?" This was after describing that i was tucking the drives all the way in, and dropping tabs all the way. After that i would only drop tabs slightly past neutral, and tuck the drives in. Always worked after that... Thanks to Mr.Bob Saccenti! Dave |
I like to drop them about 1/2 way on any boat; and pull them up first as soon as the boat planes. Then fine tune the drive(s).
Trim tabs waste gas when on plane; but they save drives when planing. |
I'm late to the conversation but is there any time when you guys run with your tabs all the way up?

With my 4 blade prop I don't really use them to get on plane. With a 3 blade I drop them slightly negative. |
