Do you think you will put an arch on that boat? It's the only one I have seen without one. It still looks nice, but the shade it nice sometimes.

Raising the engine is cheap. If you take it to a mechanic, take the cowlings off before you go- save you some labor time and prevent them from scratching them. If you do it yourself, the lifting eye that screws in to the top of the block is only $25.

It's cheap, I say do it just so you will know but my guess if you'll have a one way ticket to porpoise city.

Please do. Don't get me wrong, I hope it works.

Assuming you have some hours under your belt with the current set up, make sure you run the new set up with different weights (people,fuel,beer,etc) before changing back.

My 32 runs better with at least 115 gallons of fuel on board than it does with less fuel on board. I can hold 212 gallons so doesn't bother me at all to top off when getting to 100ish gallons left.

That bracket looks low. What the measurement from the top of the bracket to the center of the rub rail?

If you like how the handles and rides now, I would just Leave it,
I raised my 300sx to the top, then we extented the lip another 3" higher
and raised the engines more and did not pick up any more speed, just got low water pressure when making a turn. I had BBlades lab my 26 bravos, and still only hit 74 on it's best day. And it was a hand full to drive at that speed.Sand bags in the front, tried all diffrent things, that hull is a old 33 Apache hull that was for IO's. The hull has not Ben changed it is what it is. And 68 -70 mph boat it's a lot of fun but not any faster then that. Enjoy it the way it is, I m just try to save you from alot of time and money, I went threw it all.

Raising the motors, providing that water pressure stays good, should help top end speed. I was able to find 4mph on my 30 Scarab open fish moving my Johnson V8's up 1.5". Moving up another 1.5" didn't help top speed and slightly hurt the on plane time. When I bought the boat, the motors were mounted in the highest position already, so I built step-up plates out of 3/4" T-6061 which gave me adjustment again.





I ended up with hydraulic jackplates so I could pick where I wanted to run them.

Also, looking up the specs on your motors, the WOT RPM band is quoted at 5000-6000rpm. I'd bet that peak power is 5600-5800rpm, and would suggest you try 2" LESS pitch prop. See if your local prop shop will lend you a set of 24 Bravos to try. That should bring the RPM up about 400 or so, which may get the motor into a slightly higher power area, where it may pull a little harder on top. Not to mention it will have more grunt and acceleration everywhere else with the lower pitch props.

On my rig, I ran 24's, 26's and 28's. The 24's went to the limiters, then 26's run hard and the 28's were no faster on top, just a little better cruise speed. I ended up sticking with the 26's for the acceleration.
