Lake Murray was a blast, Windship will be back. The drag boat races were eventful, especially when the blower blew off the top of one of the jet boats. Great hospitality and good people. Thank you all. Send pictures and videos.

Windship 48 is my Fav MTI....

Boat and Tow Rig are just, simply amazing too look at...
It doesn't get any nicer, unreal....

If you have a pic of the tow rig/boat hooked up, please share it with us .....AMAZING!!

Catmando 06-26-2011 09:37 PM

Beautiful boat but too dark for bare hands and feet. My boat was all red and I had to wear gloves and shoes.

[It's my wallpaper now. :)]

Hey John!
Glad that you all were able to make it over and we're hoping to make it to Lanier soon.....I'm already working on the stereo and I plan on dropping the hammer on Windship. I just thought that I would let you know.....IT'S ON!!

windship 06-27-2011 04:01 PM

I'll post a better picture of the rig.

windship 06-27-2011 04:10 PM

Ok, the more the merrier. We'll have to sync the two stereo's on the same song. That'll get the hearing aid guy out to set up a vendor tent! Nice to meet you. Windship will be at Knoxville July 16 for the Tennessee Valley Poker Run, as will Terminator.

dkwestern 06-27-2011 04:11 PM

Why 1351 decals and not 1350?

ospreyproduction 06-27-2011 04:19 PM

Here area few from Friday night. A little wet but we still had a good time.

I'm about to kick your ass by 3db. How you like them apples??

kellyshooty 06-27-2011 05:10 PM

I doubt anyone would be walking bare foot on it unless you want blisters. I would think you would roast in the interior also.

schnydo 06-27-2011 05:23 PM

Yeh I'm Sure They Didn't Think About That Before

Attachment 451710The boat has reverse cycle A/C and heat. Heat for those cool mornings and A/C for the hot days idling in and out. The A/C will cool the cockpit and / or the cabin. Sticky socks cure the hot deck issue, but your right, you have to like black vehicles to own them and keep em looking right.

Thanks for the compliments, I am quite pleased with the final result of what I call my newest child.

She was born on December 9, 2010, weighed 12,400 lbs. and was 48 feet long. She is a very strong girl!

Phantom1 06-27-2011 06:34 PM

None of these photos really do the paint job justice. There are subtle background accents that you can only see up close. It is amazing.

What is the story behind the name "Windship"?

I asked him when he was in Chattanooga at our poker run and he said that everything he owns makes wind one way or another, hence wind ship

I would think silver is not nearly as hot as black or blue. I had silver black and red seats in my boat. The seat bottoms were silver and I had no complaints about hot seats from anyone who rode with me.

Well not many new members have made a statement like you have.

Welcome to OSO Mr. Windship! :)

JasonSmith 06-27-2011 07:22 PM

Cool boat, glad YOU are happy with the colors. After all it is YOUR boat and YOU paid for it.
That being said, would you change anything about it now that you've got some seat time?

Actually he owned a turbine Sanger for the last 20 years.

Windship

Actually, his boat and helicopter are named after his uncle, I believe, just as is the cancer research facility at Emory University. A truly amazing family and John & Nancy are two, real nice, down to earth folks who love to go fast!

Comanche3Six 06-27-2011 09:07 PM

Beautiful 48' MTI powerboat....The latest power from Mercury Racing....and a fantastic tow vechicle! Now that's living!
Best wishes that it all provides you with excellent service.
Ed

Phantom1 06-27-2011 09:12 PM

I found my answer in another post:

The Cancer institute at Emory is named after my great Uncle's middle name, Winship. He put the moniker "Windship" on the Coca-Cola Jets many years ago, as when you ride in a Gulfstream all you hear is wind. All my activities create wind in one way or another therefore the moniker stands to reason.

Pretty cool...
