Friend of mine had a 1994 powerquest 290 enticer with twin 454's boat could do 70 mph with a load of people. Excellent room in the cockpit. Friend told me one day that he would give $100 if I could find a single stress crack on the hull (not the deck). I didnt win the bet and that was just last year. Powerquests are heavier boats and are considered "wave crushers." We are thinking of buying a new boat in the next year or so and we have consider the 340 vyper and 380 avenger. But hey just my .02 Good luck

Ive owned a 1994 Powerquest 257 Legend for ther past 5 years and can honestly say its one of the best boats Ive ever been on. No stress cracks, no blistering, nothing broken, no rattles...its just as solid as they come! My boat weighs 4200 lbs dry, I dont consider it a heavy boat or a wave crusher but its a very predictable boat and handles the rougher chop with ease.
Trust me, you wont be disappointed if you buy one.

ok i will bite the bullet and say i might have been wrong calling it a heavy boat seems i didnt know exact dry weight but it felt like a heavy boat when we ran the gulf with open drinks not spilling a drop.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oszfrkbG1NU video of us running in gulf sorry for poor quality it was a cell phone

There are tons of boats out there, if he doesn't meet your price find another one unless of course your heart is set on this one. He's lucky there's someone interested in his boat.

Friend bought a 280 last year and I gave him some instruction on operating at speed. It was a great boat from a performance and build standard. Great boats! I would buy one in a minute.

We r only 3 grand apart on r price. But I can't talk to him directly cuz of the broker. But it has the 454 mag. 2 step hall. An all an all good looking boat 340 HR. On the first step there is a 1' mark were it looks like trailer rash. But not to sure. Thank you all for the good help.

The only significant issue with PQs is the wiring. They seemed to have something against bus bars. The wiring did appear to get a bit better in later years. Otherwise, they are very well built boats. I have seen them stress crack. It took only one season for a 1998 270 to develop several on LOTO. Cosmetic, not structural. However, they are far from the only brand to develop stress cracks at LOTO.
