How about a baseball game? July 14th, Florida Marlins vs. Chicago Cubs, at Wrigley Field.

705pm Start. I looked at the schedule for you.

Also, pics of the car, would be nice, if poss.!

Cash Bar 07-10-2011 09:34 PM

Yeah, I see too much of the Marlins and my flight is out of Midway at 8pm

"Car" pics may or may not be available next week.

I'd suggest touching base with the Bad Influence gang. Check in with Magic Medicine, Redhotsommer, or BZ. All 3 of em, can give you some local knowledge/ of what to do during a short time-table.

x2. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME.

Do a river tour...you learn alot about the history of the city. Hit up Navy Pier...nice beer garden out there with a great skyline view, plus Harry Carey's has a location there...good food as well.

I'd love to take you out on the boat, but I've got a lunch meeting on Thursday. :(

You going to that one car dealership in Waukegan?

Yeah, I gotta see a guy about the speed addiction I can't shake.

Smitty 07-11-2011 12:47 PM

If you are going to be in Waukegan, then fly out of Milwaukee. Only 20-30 mins to Waukegan versus over an hour + from Midway.

I've lived in Chicago my whole life and I ONLY put ketchup on my dogs. Must've missed the boat on that one. I also hate both the Cubs AND the Sox equally.

costco:eek: need to go to jean and judes off of river road,,you know the place that floods every few years :drink:

iamjoe 07-11-2011 04:48 PM

Gene and Judes really is pretty good, but a dump. Even though I live in Tampa, I always make one trip to G&Js when I'm in town. I have been going there for many many years. Not sure what you're doing for lunch, but you have to try a good Italian Beef sandwich. Portillo's, Gold Coast Dog, Als Beef, etc. Uno has good deepdish pizza.

Waukegan has a pretty nice boat dealer on its outskirts, but otherwise NOTHING going on. I was born at St. Terese hospital.

I gotta agree. Garrets Chedder Cheese Popcorn is a MUST!! FYI, there's one at Navy Pier so dont wait in line at the one downtown... We found out the hard way in cold Febuary.... If your at Navy Pier, Check out the Mackinac Fudge.. Its the best out there also.... To bad you could hit Blarneys also, It is one of a kind!

Cash Bar 07-11-2011 07:41 PM

Thanks. The list is getting longer than my stay but keep 'em coming.

PARADOX 07-11-2011 08:10 PM

A short time in Chicago.. hmm... too many places too many things.
A) Go up on the Hancock, better view then the Sears.
B) Get the best dawg at "Little Louis".
C) Take a cab and colt 45 to lower, Wacker. I mean LOWER.. the real LOWER Wacker. :) Every one needs to see the super rats once.
D) Spend a few minutes strolling down on Michigan Av. and Mag. Mile, have a few drinks on Rush street and back to Midway, via the "loop".
You should have just enough time for this.

We stopped in Chicago one night last week traveling for the 4th and went to Navy Pier and had a few drinks at Harry Carrys and witnessed a purse snatching at the table next to us... Now thats the real Chicago experience. I was shocked at how many people were in downtown on a wed afternoon but coming to find out it was The Taste of Chicago. I would say to def make it to Navy Pier and they also shoot fireworks every night of the summer

Suburbs is not Chicago!!!!!! I got friends from the burbs who put Pineapple and $hit on their pizza. That $hit doesnt fly in Chinatown, Taylor Street, and Oakley St!

I agree with you on the cubs and sox! :drink:
