The 8.2 doesn't have anything to do with the 496, they went back to the older style motor.

Closer to the 502mpi's.

You are correct. The new motor is based off a 502 block. GM no longer produces the 496.

Bottom design info & dry weight would be a good question to ask too...coupla 250 ETecs on a bracket.?...what is the X-Dim on the outdrive.....
