Kaama s/d Prop question
O.K.: The project is getting near completion. Gremlins are leaving the boat like lemmings toward the cliff.
Then comes last night... Tooling along @ 70-75 checking fuel pressure, listening for problems, etc. Then a blade breaks off the stbd prop. Nearly shook us out of the water.
No bent shafts, but now I have a 4 blade prop and a "new" 3 blade one. Drives are Kaama surface drives.
Poll :
1) Am I screwed? What would you suggest?
2) Anybody know what kind of prop will fit these drives?

When I had Kaamas, I used props for a small shaft Speedy #3 or 4. They are not cheap but they are out there. What size do you need. You may have to buy a pair of props.

What size do you need? We have a pretty good selection of Mercury style props.

MOst Kaama's used a 19 spline .That is standard small shaft speed master size like Katdrvr said . Look in the classifieds hear there are usualy some around .Check to see if you have short shaft or long . Short hub props are about a 3" long hub . I assume if you have 4 blades they are probably long shafts and hubs .(long is better ) Messure it and double check what your buying ! I assume you are about a 24"-26" pitch . YOu should find some . I have seen them for around $500 but most are closer to 1000. If you have trouble finding them ,e-mail me . I will track down a guy in canada that used to have a lot of them . Good luck , JOE

You might try Archer Marine (949) 646-9778. Dan or Gary will be able to help. They might have a prop on the shelf to match the one you have. That is Betty Cook's shop (Kaama).
good luck,
