Chris 08-03-2011 08:41 PM

nice video.. I had the privilege to talk to Reggie (jr.) - what a great guy! Very knowledgeable, very honest, I hope our paths cross again in the future.

Powerquest230 08-03-2011 08:59 PM

Not trying to be a hater, but... Did a blind man install that wrap? :drink:

Hope RF Powerboats is a success

quicklt1 08-03-2011 09:26 PM

great for fountain but maybe that guy and his kid didnt have to be on camera the whole time. how about showing the boat doing 87??

rexcramer1 08-03-2011 10:48 PM

Yeah I was getting tired of looking at that bored kid too.

87 is the fastest CC in the world? I find that hard to believe. Someone has to be going faster than that

Reggie Fountain 08-03-2011 11:08 PM

That's Really Quick For A 38 Ft Long Boat That's Almost 11 Ft Wide & Weighs Close To 20000 Lbs.

Yes it is! Great work, looking forward to seeing what else rolls out in the future. :drink:

cp5899 08-04-2011 06:44 AM

87 is moving!! Over on the hulltruth they have some guys using the same 38 fountain platform and they are all running for the fastest cc in the world/country. Two of them in particular are running in the mid to upper 80's like this particular boat. One of the boats having quad 350 verados and the other quad 300xs (or something close to that).

First off, there are always those who have to make some kind of negative comments about something or some body. Enough said about that. Great to see a nice video by a customer who has nothing but positive comments to make about a boat manufacture, the work done and the way they were treated. Nice to see a father and son together share the same interest as many of us have. Reggie Fountain is a legend in the performance boating industry and should be treated with respect. I don't own a Fountain or know Reggie but I respect the Man for what he has done and who he is. Great video and wish RF the best.

Nice job....may need to send my 42 to you guys for some extra TLC :)

TEXASRPM 08-04-2011 08:00 PM

Need a better video!!

Rethink the format of future videos.

Need to show more of the work being done and out on the water at WOT! That boat needs a custom paint job!

All due respect but what happened to such a great and recognized boat company? Companies strive to obtain such name recognition.

Good Luck in the future. All the best.

rexcramer1 08-04-2011 08:44 PM

I guess I didnt realize the 38cc weighed that much more than the 38 Lightning. That thing must be a wave crusher

Impressive for a 'start-up' company given the events over the last year or two!

`20,000lbs??? I've seen 50' Nortech Vs that don't weigh that much. Why so heavy?

SHARKEY-IMAGES 08-04-2011 09:44 PM

I am sure many are aware of what RF has done for the local economy over the years...

The people who live there are not forgetting that !

He has a lot of support from the local people.

Not many people may realize that Reggie builds boats because he enjoys it , not because has to. It is more of a fun factor for him.

His "Real Earnings" come from his investment properties. He could finance the entire new company with what he has but won't be foolish to do so. He will have the business support itself with the work they are doing now, plus with help of his outside investors...

Some people may have written him off, but after seeing him in June, all I saw was a man with determination to reinvent his own brand once again and not let him get put in the same situation that forced the loss of his company...

Should be exciting to watch..... :drink:

Why doesnt RF Powerboats have a website yet?

Reggie Fountain 08-09-2011 04:04 PM

Website is being done now. It's going to be over the top. Should launch in about 3-4 weeks.

Power Boating Landscape has changed!

The current landscape of power boating is nothing what it was 15 20 years ago. Prices have skyrocketed even for the most entry level bow rider let alone a typical 30 footer. 30k 50k for a Performance engine is just outrages! I was recently at a local boat dealer and saw an 19' bow rider with a 6 cyl Alpha One for 25K and this was for a economy boat builder!!

Almost all the known Perf Magazines are gone! Several well known builders have folded.

The days of the home equity loans (ATM Machines) are over for many home owners.

In my opinion the boating Industry has priced itself out of the business and will not come back to what it once was. The prices are just not justified but for only a few.

Glad my boat is paid for. The used market is the next boom.

THX

SHARKEY-IMAGES 08-09-2011 07:07 PM

I wouldn't put total blame on the industry. The price of CRUDE OIL continues to drive up the prices of resins used to build the boats... :(

McGary911 08-09-2011 07:59 PM

So they basically refurbished an older Fountain CC? It looks like they did a stellar job, but I thought the idea behind RF boats was to build new ones.

The customer looks super happy. There's just a big difference between freshening up an older boat and building a fresh one.

Reggie Fountain 08-09-2011 08:01 PM

We are doing a lot of service & custom jobs right now. The new 43 RF will come over the winter.

TooTall 08-09-2011 09:38 PM

nice to see a new start again . . .

How about some before and after shots . . . or teaser shots on future projects

Show some more action going on . . . have the owner talking, but have some movement to go with it

offshorexcursion 08-09-2011 10:13 PM

The video was lame. The "customers" weren't even the current owners of the boat. How could a boat only a few years old built by "fountain" the so called best boats in the world, need the bottom blue printed already? and when the bottom got blue printed why did it still have yellow water stains on it? The wrap looks like it was installed by daffy duck himself! "runs as good as new' but only 82mph in a perfect conditon 2 ft chop??? what about the 86.7???

Seriously, Reggie did great things for the industry in the past, but there is no saving the future. This video is just to satisfy Regges EGO. If RF powerboats was doing so great the 43 would be out. But it will never come out, and if it does it will never make RF powerboats any profit, just be there for Reggies EGO.

Sorry but the truth hurts.....
