Ya the Velocity of intrest right now is a 280...i would be ok with a 260 to get started as well but a 280 will be prefered. I want to stay single engine for a bit and figured when the bug for more power comes a nice S/C set up would be the next step.
For now an all factory/stock boat is what i want....maybe a prop and exhaust but that's it for the time being even though i know it wont last.

I have a 2008 Velocity 290 sc mid cabin i had custom built at velocity with a merc 600 sci 87 hours mint has every option full dull hydro. steering 280 kplanes xr drive shorty 3 props dry stored that does 81 mph all day long on pump gas. looking at 85k for the boat on a trailer. Boat is totally stock no mods .

This might work under 30K - has 454 HO MAG MPI motor. Boat is way above in average condition with no issues.

I personally dont like the looks of velocity. To me they remind me of a street legal hot rod where one person can fit in them. When i was looking at boat I looked at velocity. Not knocking them if all you want is speed and nothing else matters go for it. But to me I would go Baha for that price and overall speed, performance and comfort. Ive seen a lot of velocitys sit on the market for a LONNNNGGGG time.
Me personally for your first boat/performance boat the 25 Baja would be perfect and if its in nice shape Bahas are easy to re sale. A velocity is limited to a small market who wants them
