If the fuel pump loads the turbine with fuel and then it ignites it will blow flames and smoke from the exhaust and on to the hull. The halon system will not help unless the fire is inside the hull. Same basic thing happened to Geico last year in Ocean City. Hope Mary Mac can get fixed up soon and face off with Geico in Solomons Island.

Or in this case a "Fire Boat"...we saw the smoke while we were heading out and it was probably a little large for the small hand held extinguisher in the boat... After looking at the pictures it looked like it fared a lot better than I expected. They were very fortunate to have this happen when and where it did with the fire safety crews on the scene...
