Was on Lake Erie last weekend visting my folks and cruised around in their Nordic Tug. We were at the Casino Friday and MBYC Saturday. Had to head home Sunday but took a pic off Marblehead. Winds were from the N-NW. Would have been even worse from the NE.

I miss boating on Erie (my wife doesn't). Have spent the past four yrs on Lake Norman and Lake Lanier. So much water to explore and places to go on that lake (and connecting lakes)
The roughest days on either of the lakes above would be a realitvely calm day on Erie... Don't let any one tell you different.
Hope the title of the thread isn't true.

That was us. We were on C dock and yeah, it took us almost an hour to go about 6 miles. The waves we serious 10ft. Never seen anything like it. And we had to go all the way to St. Clair, so, we turned back. That was some crazy ****!!!
I was also that heard about the boat going down. The dock hands were the ones that told us a Mayday came over the radio and it was supposedly a cigarette, but I guess maybe they were wrong. Hopefully they were!

Didn't have our act together well enough (2 days of drinking on the docks) to leave that morning but we got together as a group and all but two boats decided to fuel up that day, lash everything down that night and hope the next morning was calm and haul ass.
The other 2 boats left mid day and disappeared into pouring rain, near zero visibility (one w/a hand held VHF!) and 6' + waves with 35 miles to go. At one point the smaller boat w/the hand held was out of site of larger, lead boat and radio contact. (we were preparing to go look for them in my boat)
They made it 15 mls and shelter'd in @ Pelee Island.
We left at butt crack of dawn the next morning w/glass smooth water, ran 55+ the whole trip and beat the other two boats to breakfast at Kelley's!
Never forgot that lesson. Does same down here and plan to use that info when finally get to head east

No Showers at the Casino.... You will have to take a Laporta shower in the lake.... As for power, they do have hook ups...
