Scarab down in Barnagat Bay
My 94 29 Scarab went down in the bay over laborday weekend. Not sure what happened for sure but I was towing a friend in and with the big chop that day we think it took in more water than through the side vents than the pump could handle and went down and spent a night on the bottom.. My question is, If the ins. wants to fix it should I take it back. I am thinking it will be a nightmare with electrical connections and everything else .. At this point I am hoping it is totaled.. Thanks

Salt water or fresh?
I'm thinking a 94 29 will be cheaper to pay you off that fix it like new for the insurance company. |
Its done, make sure your insurance pays if you are towing.Maybe that not what caused you to go down

.....and hope you don't get wacked with some type of environmental cleanup charge.
|
How did you get it back up ?

those 29 scarabs are known for taking on water through those vents because the ass sits so low in the water...good luck getting your insurance check

This may have finally answered a question about my boat. My wife and I had it out a couple of weeks ago sitting in some windy, really rough stuff. When I put it on the trailer I had a lot of water in the bilge, I normally do not. Ran on a hose w/ no leaks. Just replaced bellows and steering seal over the winter.
