Always seems amazing what big horsepower and torque can do to props and shafts. I think that this was about the same horsepower level in the engines that Reggie used back a few years ago for his then v-bottom record runs. I know these are different engine animals but the horsepower is about the same. Should be interesting to see how fast that Skater will run, my guess ,185-190.
Hopefully all will go well from here on, as it seems like Sterling and others have put a lot of investment and work into this project. Best of Luck to them and "Keep it on the Rails!"

Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar

Yeah, that is quite a bit of horsepower and peak torque to manage with a No. 6 drive.

Just curious, wy did they choose the No.6 and not the M8?

That answers that question...

Kinda throws a wrench in the project!

And the boat already had 6's on it.

Why not just put Arneson's on the back? Wouldn't they handle the power and torque better?

I don't think those 44" pitched props are on the shelf... :lolhit:
